Why We Filter YouTube
YouTube hosts a vast amount of content — and while much of it is useful, some videos may be inappropriate or unsafe. That’s why Techloq considers YouTube a high-risk platform and recommends minimizing its use when possible.
If you do need to use YouTube, we offer two filtering options to help protect your online environment:
1. Channel-Based Filtering
Each YouTube video request is evaluated based on the channel it comes from.
In order to receive access to a video, you would need to use the Request Access button on the block page.
Here’s how we categorize channels:
- ✅ Safe Channel
Videos from reviewed and approved channels (safe entertainment, productivity, Jewish content) will be automatically allowed. - ❌ Unsafe Channel
Videos from channels marked as unsafe will be automatically rejected regardless of the single video content. - ⚠️ Unverified Channel
Channels that haven’t yet been reviewed fall into this category. If you come across one, you have two options:
- Report the channel to us for evaluation.
- Request access to the entire category (e.g., Music, Education) that the video belongs to.
2. Category-Based Filtering
You can choose to allow or block among 32 YouTube categories, like:
…and more.
These categories are defined by YouTube — Techloq does not control or modify them.
Important Limitations
At this time, our system cannot allow or block individual YouTube channels directly.
📩 Blocked Video from a Safe Channel?
Sometimes, a video from a safe channel may be blocked because it triggered our offensive text filter (e.g., due to certain keywords).
If this happens:
- You’ll receive a rejection email.
- You can reply to that email to request a manual review.
- Our team will carefully assess your request and respond.
